DSNS firefighters have put out the fires in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, which were reported to have started after the Russian drone crash.

According to DSNS on Telegram, the fires broke out on Tuesday due to the fact that a Russian drone crash occurred in the area of the “Pivnichna Pushcha” forest. The fires were extinguished.

Special equipment was used to prevent the fire from spreading to the surrounding area. In addition, they used water from nearby reservoirs.

During the operation, the firefighters worked without stopping for a minute. A total of more than 260 people and nearly 65 units of special equipment were involved in extinguishing the fires.

The radio signal from the air defense system in the area was reportedly interfering with communications. It was also reported that the fire spread was prevented with the help of special equipment.

It was also reported that the two wildfires were caused by the Russian drones, which were shot down and fell in the area. The fire covered an area of about 1,000 hectares.
