Novak Djokovic advanced to the quarterfinals at Wimbledon, winning his 106th Wimbledon match in a row. The record was: Djokovic surpassed Rodger Federer, who had 105 such wins.
Against Roman Safiullin, a match that ended in a fifth set tiebreak (the seventh seed) Djokovic won 7-6 (8), 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. According to ESPN, Djokovic had to win the match against Wimbledon.
It is also worth noting that, with the current result, Djokovic has not lost a match at Wimbledon since 2016 (third round). Lise Martine Navratilova has won more matches at Wimbledon — 120.
