Sisters accused of murder in Texas after friend’s fatal stabbing of 32-year-old woman

In Texas, two sisters were charged after a 32-year-old woman, Caroline Pena, was stabbed to death. Authorities allege that the victim’s friend, Kitty Mia Diaz, 19, and Amaya Kuki Diaz, 21, stabbed Pena at around East 10th Street. The incident occurred after the sisters were taken to the hospital.
According to authorities, the sisters were arrested on June 25 at around 10 p.m. at 10th Street in Del Rio. Pena’s mother said she received a call from her daughter’s phone and learned that the sisters were involved in the incident.
Police said the investigation began after a report that the victim had been stabbed. Investigators determined that the sisters had been in a vehicle and had driven to the area. The mother said she watched video footage in which she saw the sisters arriving at the scene in a Chrysler.
Police also said that Amaya Diaz, along with the sisters, allegedly “staged” the crime scene by stabbing Pena, while Faz reportedly arrived at the scene and then fled. The sisters were later arrested.
Authorities said the sisters were arrested after they were found to have been involved in the case. The investigation is ongoing.
