Thomas Tuchel will review the injury situation ahead of the match against Mexico
- Before the match, Mexico–England in the Mechico City area is expected to have a problem with injuries.
- Djed Spence has a hamstring problem, and therefore will miss the game at Azteca Stadium.
- Jarell Quansah will be unable to play through a hamstring injury, the same one that Reece James is dealing with.
Ahead of the 1/16 final match of the 2026 World Cup, England will play Mexico at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
According to BBC Sport material, defender Djed Spence has been ruled out with a hamstring injury. It is also reported that the 25-year-old footballer started the match in the 1/32 final against DR Congo on the right side of the defense, and then, due to the problem, was substituted at Azteca Stadium.
Guardian reports that Jarell Quansah is expected to miss England’s 2026 World Cup match against Mexico due to a hamstring injury. The material also states that Djed Spence has a hamstring problem and is not expected to start, but will be a doubt.
As for the other defender, Reece James: BBC Sport reports that he will be a doubt due to a hamstring problem, while Guardian says that James will miss the match due to a hamstring problem. BBC Sport also adds that although Spence is not expected to be ready, head coach Thomas Tuchel could make changes to the starting lineup, but it is also noted that there may be problems with the substitutions.
