On April 30, 2026, Mets fan Steph Koen received anti-Semitic backlash online for a tweet criticizing X.
Forbes also reported that Koen had been criticized for a tweet that allegedly violated the terms of the platform after the team’s season ended.
In a statement, Forbes said that Koen’s “Mets” tweet after the 5-4 win over the “Phillies” sparked the backlash. According to Forbes, “Mets” had a 35–49 record in 15 games in the NL East, and also had 9.5 games in the final wild card spot.
It was also noted that Koen planned to use the media to point out the “Fire Stearns” ban during the match.
