Dastin Gardiner dies, aged 61, after playing the lead in “The Wicker Man”

British actor Dastin Gardiner, who starred in the cult film The Wicker Man (1973), has died at the age of 61. According to the family, Gardiner died at his home after suffering a heart attack.
His mother said that Gardiner was nominated for BAFTA and Emmy awards. It is also known that the actor played a role in Children of the Wicker Man in 2024, starring opposite Domhnall Gleeson in the film.
However, BBC reports that Wrath of the Gods was filmed with Gardiner, who played the lead role in The Wicker Man. Independent also claims that the film was released at 28 years old, while BBC says the actor was 61.
According to BBC, Wrath of the Gods features scenes with Gardiner, which were inspired by The Wicker Man and were released in 2011 in the film The Wicker Tree. Independent also points out that the film’s ending is based on an original scene.
Gardiner’s family said that he was “killed by a heart attack” at 61. BBC also added that Domhnall Gleeson, who is named Gardiner, said that the film Wrath of the Gods would have “a similar ending” and “a different ending” in the project.
According to BBC, Gardiner previously studied at University College London. He had four children.
