Argentine footballer Valentin Barco is joining Chelsea from Strasbourg, following a loan spell.
During the current season, Barco, who could play as a defender or in midfield, has featured for his club. His contract includes a clause that allows him to leave on a free transfer within 19 hours after the end of the season, with Barco then moving to Chelsea.
According to L’Équipe, Barco’s contract with Chelsea includes a clause running until 2033. The report also states that, for the time being, Strasbourg will receive a fee for 58 matches.
L’Équipe adds that the total transfer fee will not be paid. It also says that Barco will be paid a total of 10 million euros in 2025, and that the footballer will be assessed by Xabi Alonso, the club’s head coach.
