Siobhan Coughlan won the Women’s British Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes in England, with the tournament concluding on a dramatic final day. Coughlan held off Nellie Korda, who was unable to make up the deficit after Coughlan hit a par.
Going into the final round, Coughlan had a five-under-par lead. Coughlan then birdied the 18th hole, finishing with a total of 40 birdies, and held on to the lead.
After 18 holes, BBC Sport reports that the match was tied, with the winner determined by the next hole. Coughlan made two birdies on the final two holes to secure victory.
American Noh, who started the day with a three-under-par lead, finished three-under par. Her total was also enough for Nellie Korda to finish the tournament with a two-under-par run on the final four holes.
