Record heat waves sweep Korea’s baseball stadiums

A record heat wave is causing Korea’s baseball stadiums to be shut down due to the extreme heat. The South Korean baseball league has suspended games after 16 players were affected, and the league said it will continue to monitor the situation.

According to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, heat-related illnesses have increased sharply, with nearly 1,900 people hospitalized; the number of cases continues to rise. Meanwhile, the number of people who have died from heat-related causes is expected to increase further. In addition, the heat wave has led to a surge in cases of heat stroke, which can be fatal.

The heat wave has caused games to be suspended across the country. South Korea’s baseball league has postponed the next round of matches for the day due to extreme heat.
