Christopher Phillips’ mother died after he was cleared of murdering her

Cardiff Crown Court heard that Christopher Phillips, 60, was found guilty of murdering his mother after she was placed in a freezer in her home and died of hypothermia.

Prosecutors said that Phillips’ mother had died after she was placed in a freezer in her home in Wales. Phillips’ mother, Silvia Phillips, died on 8 March 2023.

As the court heard, the body of Silvia Phillips was found in a freezer in the building in Porthcawl in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. Police said Phillips had placed his mother in the freezer following the start of the freezing process.

It was also heard that Phillips had previously received benefits and used the money to pay for his mother’s murder. The court heard that he had used the money to pay for the freezer and other equipment.

Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke, the Recorder of Cardiff, said in her ruling that Phillips’ actions were exceptionally close to murder and that he had been sentenced to 2 years and 4 months.

In addition, The Guardian reported that the court heard Phillips had been “exceptionally close” to his mother and that he had been “exceptionally close” to her since 2008. The paper also said that DCI Claire Lamerton argued that Phillips had killed his mother for financial reasons.
