Tony Livesey was jailed for 16 years for offences on BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC reported.

According to BBC, Livesey admitted that, in his view, the charges were based on a single piece of evidence, which he said was not enough to convict him.

In the report, it is stated that Livesey was accused of offences committed against Salilvan. BBC and The Times, in their investigations, said that the allegations were supported by evidence from Times and BBC Panorama about the possible involvement of Salilvan.

According to BBC, one of the allegations was that Livesey had been involved in the offences against Salilvan since 1999. Livesey, who denied the allegations, said that he had not done anything and that the evidence was fabricated.

The BBC Radio 5 Live controller, Haydiye Douson, said that Livesey had been found guilty of offences on 5 Live. She said that Livesey had been working on the station for 16 years and that he had been dismissed from his position.

Independent has said that Livesey’s comments in a “short time” segment on Panorama were published in connection with the investigation. It also said that Livesey had previously worked on sports broadcasts, including with London’s Paralympic Games, and that he had also worked on reports on the RAF Akrotiri base and on Brexit.
