Zelensky urges Japan to strengthen ties with Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelensky said that during his meeting with Japanese Prime Minister he discussed strengthening bilateral relations between Ukraine and Japan, as well as new opportunities for cooperation with other Asian countries.

In his remarks, Zelensky said Ukraine is interested in strengthening ties with Japan. He noted that the world will only become safer if Ukraine’s partners help implement a just peace, and he emphasized that Japan’s position on the issue is important.

Zelensky also said that Ukraine needs Japan’s support for strengthening the country’s defense capabilities and for ensuring long-term stability in the region. He added that Ukraine is ready to develop cooperation with Japan in various areas, including defense and security.

According to Zelensky, Ukraine and Japan can expand cooperation in trade and investment, and also develop joint projects in technology and infrastructure.

He said Ukraine expects Japan to continue supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to contribute to international efforts to hold Russia accountable.

The Ukrainian president noted that Ukraine is ready to deepen cooperation with Japan in economic and political spheres, and to strengthen dialogue between the two countries.

In addition, Zelensky said that Ukraine is interested in developing cooperation with Japan in the energy sector and in attracting investments for reconstruction.

RBC-Ukraine previously reported that Zelensky said during his meeting that Ukraine expects Japan to provide support for Ukraine’s defense capabilities and to help strengthen international pressure on Russia.

According to the report, Zelensky also said that Ukraine needs Japan’s involvement in the process of international dialogue and that cooperation between the two countries can contribute to regional stability.
