In a statement, News UK said Liddle — Wilder, Tyler — Emmy — had died peacefully, at the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

News UK said that it was “heartbroken” to learn of Liddle’s death. “We will miss him greatly,” it added.

Liddle, who worked for The Sun and The Sunday Times, also hosted a programme on Times Radio.
