The Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) has filed a complaint with FIFA, saying that the so-called “pazo-poloviyni indydentamy” chant was heard during the 1/8 final match between Ukraine and Mexico.

The complaint was filed after a video appeared online showing that, during the match, fans in Mexico chanted “fan-fest” in reference to the match between Ukraine and Mexico at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

The material also notes that the fans’ chants included insults and threats. The FFU says that such chants, in particular, “demand that the participants of the match be punished,” are unacceptable.

The FFU also reports that “anti-Ukrainian organizations” were identified, and that the chants were directed at the fans.

At the same time, the team’s head coach, in an interview, said that the match was played under difficult conditions and that the players were focused on the game.

According to AP, the incident happened at the Westin hotel in the Santa Fe area, where the fans were staying, and that the chants were directed at the command.

AP also reported that the FFU complaint to FIFA was related to a specific incident. The head coach of the Mexican team, Sebastián Beccacece, said that, according to the information, the fans chanted “Go, go, go” and that the chant was aimed at the players and the match.

In a statement, AP said that the team arrived at Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), which is located 65 km from Santa Fe, and that the bus traveled for about two hours to reach the stadium.

The Ukrainian football federation believes that FIFA should respond to the complaint.
