President Donald Trump did not deny U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro’s claim that he ordered a criminal investigation into him after the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool scan. The Independent, which made the claim, said it was based on CNN.

Following CNN’s report, Trump criticized Pirro and Doug Burgum, but did not accept the remarks about her having been “choked” in the report. Meanwhile, The Independent, citing documents, said Trump was referring to the prosecution, claiming that Pirro was not “choked” in the report.

Tim Chasem of Forbes said federal prosecutors had filed charges against Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in connection with three other individuals. According to CBS News, the charges were for three misdemeanor charges against Justin Carreno, Sophie Dennison-Gibby and Cameron Thiers, who, according to the report, were sentenced to pay a fine of more than $1,000.

Forbes also notes that the Washington Post reported on the same charges. The material states that Carreno was found guilty of breaking the law; the publication adds that the appeal was denied, and that the court found that he was responsible for the “crushed and flawed installation” process, with the court linking the case to the criminal vandalism.

The Independent also reports that the case was based on a claim made by a source close to the White House and DOJ.
