According to Reuters, the FAA said that the incident did not involve any failure that would have caused the crash, but that the incident was caused by other factors. The material also states that it is unclear what exactly caused the crash.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Marine One was flying from Ellipse to the home of the president, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, when the crash occurred. The publication said that the crash occurred when the aircraft was flying about 1.5 miles from Ellipse and about 500 feet above the ground.

According to CNN, the FAA also found no evidence of any failure in its investigation. CNN said that, according to the report, Marine One had been flying about three times above the runway and that the crash was caused by the aircraft’s failure to comply with the safety procedures.

Reuters reported that the cockpit voice recorder had been damaged in the incident, which prevented investigators from understanding the exact sequence of events. The material also states that the crash involved Envoy Air flight 3742, an E170 regional jet, which was flying from Pensacola, Florida, to Reagan Airport. CNN also said that Envoy Air 3742 — a regional E170 — took off at 2:34 p.m., and that according to Reuters’ data, the aircraft was flying over Marine One at the time of the crash.

According to CNN, the commercial flight’s cockpit voice recorder showed that the aircraft was about 1.5 miles from Ellipse when the crash occurred. Reuters also reported that Marine One did not crash and that it was flying over Joint Base Andrews, with the president’s helicopter landing at the site of the crash.

Reuters and CNN said that the incident involving the Black Hawk helicopter occurred at Reagan Airport, with 67 people on board. The FAA report said that the helicopter’s flight path over the DC area did not violate the safety procedures before the crash of Marine One.
