Alexander Zverev won another Wimbledon match, defeating Oleksandr Blokksa in a match that ended 6-4, 6-7 (8), 7-6 (5), 7-6 (0).
The match took place on June 30, 2026. Zverev got off to a strong start, and then with set-by-set pressure he turned the tide: 21 wins out of 26 first serves landed in the court, and the same number of points won on second serves.
In the third set, the opponent managed to break back, but Zverev still kept the advantage. He managed to take the decisive set with a break at the right moment. Zverev’s serve was also strong, and he won several points in a row.
In the fourth set, Zverev held his serve, and then secured the win with a break. After that, the German player won the match without any chance for the opponent.
Zverev’s next opponent will be Frenchman Valentin Royer. Royer won his match against British Garry Wendle, who Royer defeated in straight sets.
Commenting after the match, Zverev noted that the reason he won at Wimbledon was his opponent’s tactics, which he managed to counter, and the fact that he didn’t lose his composure at the crucial moments.
