Gerі Glіtter faces trial in court on historical sex assault charges

Geri Glitter (real name Paul Aedd) has been charged in court over allegations of historical sexual assault, which, according to the charge, took place between 1978 and 1981.

According to the materials, the case was brought to Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London after prosecutors said that the defendant was arrested in connection with the investigation. He was then charged at Old Bailey in London — the court heard that he would face trial for the alleged offences.

The prosecution says the defendant committed an indecent assault on a child aged under 13 and three counts of indecent assault on a child aged under 14. The prosecution alleges that the offences took place at an address in Kensington.

In court, barrister Jonathan Polnay KC said he denies the charges. The defence says that the defendant was not involved in the offences and that the prosecution has not provided evidence.

He was remanded in custody; the next hearing in the case is scheduled for 9 January 2025, and the trial is set to begin on 22 January 2025. The trial will take place at HMP Channings Wood in Devon.
