Celtic have confirmed the departure of Martin O’Neill, saying the manager’s “incredible” spell has come to an end. The club thanked him for his work.

Celtic said the 74-year-old will be leaving “after an incredible two years” in charge. The club added that it is “extremely grateful” for Martin O’Neill’s achievements.

In a statement, Sky Sports said O’Neill had been under pressure with red in the last two league matches, which ended with two defeats from the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish Cup.

According to Sky Sports, O’Neill was sacked after the club’s last match against Dundee at Parkhead, which ended 1-0. Celtic’s next match plan is against Kilmarnock.
