The Monaco-born man is facing a probe into the attack carried out yesterday, 29 April. French outlet Le Figaro reports that investigators are focusing their version on a connection with Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaiev.

According to Le Figaro, the “Ukrainian track” is based on the fact that the bomber’s motive is linked to him. The investigation says the following: a bomb was found in the suspect’s car, and investigators, following the trail, found that the device was connected to Vadim Yermolaiev.

Official investigators give the following details about the explosives: a “cylindrical” device, with a charge of between 50 and 60 kilograms, and also 13-year-old “something,” presumably. The bomb is believed to have been concealed in a vehicle. The explosion killed the bomber, while the other person in the vehicle survived.

The material also notes that Le Figaro names the Ukrainian businessman Vadim Yermolaiev as the person who ordered the attack. It says that the investigation is based on the fact that the man’s lawyer had been in contact with the suspect.
