Olympic champion Eve Muirhead has been named as the replacement for her curling team’s previous chef de mission role, after being confirmed to take over the position until the 2030 Alpes.

As BBC Sport Scotland reported, Muirhead will take over the role following the retirement of Bobby Lammie. She won gold at the 2022 Olympics and is set to represent Team GB at the 2030 Alpes.

Independent says Muirhead is planning to compete at the 2030 Alpes. The newspaper also notes that her decision is linked to her ongoing work with the sport, including a new base for the sport’s development in Preston, and a partnership with the National Curling Academy in Stirling.

BBC Sport Scotland also reported that Muirhead took over the role after Lammie’s retirement from the sport following the 2022 Olympics. The outlet added that the switch was made to ensure continuity for Team GB’s curling programme at the next Games.
