Coroner cites possible cause of death for Aleksa Gyuzha through SADS
- The coroner said the cause of Aleksa Gyuzha’s death was Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS) at Cheshire Coroner’s Court.

The coroner said that the 38-year-old Aleksa Gyuzha died after being diagnosed with Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS), also known as sudden adult death syndrome. The verdict was reached following an inquest at Cheshire Coroner’s Court.
According to the inquest, Aleksa Gyuzha, 19 April, was found dead at home in Cheshire. The inquest heard that the man was seen alive at around 7:00, and that the next time he was seen was around 11 years later, when CPR was attempted but he could not be revived.
The coroner said that the findings indicate that SADS is diagnosed when no other cause can be identified. He added that the cause of death was linked to a problem with the heart’s electrical activity.
SADS is known as a condition in which a person dies unexpectedly from a heart rhythm problem that cannot be identified. According to the British Heart Foundation, sudden cardiac death (arrhythmia) is when a person dies suddenly, and it can happen without warning, even in someone who appears healthy.
The coroner also noted that, according to NHS guidance, problems with the heart’s rhythm can lead to sudden cardiac arrest, and that it is possible for the condition to occur without warning.
According to the British Heart Foundation, the heart’s electrical activity can become irregular, and this can lead to SADS. The coroner said that it is not always possible to identify the exact cause of SADS, and that the condition is linked to an abnormality in the heart’s electrical system.
In the coroner’s findings, it was noted that SADS is a type of sudden cardiac death: SADS can be caused by a problem with the heart’s electrical activity, which can lead to the heart stopping.
