Meteorologists warn of a dangerous heat wave in the U.S. with its peak coming

In a forecast update, Associated Press reported that meteorologists said there is no immediate danger, but strong temperatures are expected to persist across the region.
A national meteorological service issued a “heat advisory” for areas: dangerous heat index values, which will reach 100°F (37.8°C). It also warned about the risk of heat-related illness.
Detroit’s temperature will be in the 90s, with a heat index of up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The city is expected to see a low of 11 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the heat advisory for three cities—Detroit, Indianapolis, and Connecticut—warned of extreme heat. The heat could also affect areas of the Midwest. The rest of the country may see temperatures in the 100s.
