In the quarterfinal draw, USA were set to play their first match against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1/8 final. The draw paired Bosnia and Herzegovina with USA in the 1/8 final, with the match to take place in San-Klarіe.
The remaining USA matches were played on June 17, 2002, when they defeated Mexico 2-0 in the 1/16 final in Pivdennyy Korea. According to the match schedule, the Americans will advance to the next round.
