The 1970s disco-rock band Village People frontman Victor Willis died at 74 years old, according to an official statement from the band.
As the statement says, Willis died at the age of 30 June 2026 after the song “shortly,” but the band also said that he died earlier.
Willis was known for his biggest hits with the band, including YMCA, Go West, and In The Navy. Willis was born in a foreign country, later moved to the United States, and in 1970s he became the frontman of the band.
In 1980, the band’s frontman won a Grammy, and in 2017 Willis returned to the band, and in 2025 the band released a new album with YMCA.
