Police suspect the death of Genry Novak after investigating the circumstances of his killing

Unresolved questions remain regarding the investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) into the death of two police officers, which occurred after Genry Novak’s killing, and whether he could have been prevented from dying.

The investigation finds that there were no delays in the investigation, as Novak was already in custody, and IOPC, leaving no room for any alternative explanation for the cause of death.

IOPC says that what could have been done to prevent the killing depends on the circumstances of the case, and that it is not possible to determine the exact cause of death without further information. It is also possible that the police could have provided medical assistance sooner, and that this could have saved his life.

The IOPC also notes that one of the police officers involved in the killing was found to have violated the rules, and that the investigation into the circumstances of the killing is ongoing.

In the meantime, the IOPC will continue to examine the case. Deputy Director of IOPC Derrick Campbell said the investigation is ongoing, and the police officers’ actions are being reviewed.
