The series Elle, a prequel to Legally Blonde, has been renewed for a second season on Prime Video. After the first season wrapped, the series’ creators teased that in 1995 in the U.S., Elle Woods would head into her future as a lawyer.
In the 16-year-old Elle (portrayed by Lexi Minett), the story picks up after she leaves Los Angeles for Seattle to start a new chapter in her life. The series follows Elle, who is determined to fulfill her dream of becoming a lawyer, and with her mother’s support, she moves to a new city—where she will face new challenges and discover what it takes to succeed.
The first season is set entirely in the world of the 1990s, and the show promises to build on the story further. The series’ creators say that the next season will reveal more about Elle’s past and how she became the woman we know from Legally Blonde.
Forbes reports that the series’ renewal came after the platform decided to continue the project. The publication notes that the show will expand the story of Elle Woods and will also include new characters and plotlines.
