Serena Williams sues for $50,000 in damages from Wimbledon
- Williams filed a lawsuit after media reports about a scandal at Wimbledon in 2026.
- She is suing Grand Slam for a $50,000 fine for media defamation, but the lawsuit will not name the “rotten press” directly.
- End Klab player filed a lawsuit against her; she will win big with Venus.
Serena Williams is demanding $50,000 in damages for defamation after media outlets published a story about her at Wimbledon in 2026.
The 44-year-old tennis player won her first match at the tournament in straight sets: 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-3. She then advanced to the Central Court final, but not without a fight, as she had to overcome a tough opponent, which is why Williams ended up winning.
At the 2026 Grand Slam, which will be held in all four tournaments, it is expected that she will face the toughest rivals. The lawsuit is asking for $50,000, and the plaintiff believes that the court should grant her claim for “defamation.”
End Klab has also filed a lawsuit, with Williams citing her as a reason for denying the media’s statements. On Thursday, June 2, 2026, Williams will take on Venus in a match; the pair will be 46 years old.
She says it is unclear and that she will appeal Wimbledon, believing that she may win at the US Open.
