Cessna crash landing in Ongar leaves two dead

The two victims died after the aircraft crash landing, which is believed to have occurred during a “short flight experience” that began in Ongar and took place in Essex. The incident happened at Mill Lane, Ongar.

In the meantime, police said the Cessna was flying from North Weald when it crashed into a field near Mill Lane. Detective-Superintendent Morgan Cronin of Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate said police believe the crash was not intentional.

At 12.30pm, emergency services were called to reports of a plane crash in Mill Lane. The police said the crash killed both people on board.

Meanwhile, the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has begun investigating: inspectors are expected to examine the aircraft wreckage, which is said to be about 30 feet.

Police said the crash site is in a field near Mill Lane.
