Day Evans overcame Sinner in Wimbledon after a straight-sets win. The 36-year-old British player came back from a break down to win in straight sets against France’s Edouard Roger-Vasselin in the quarter-final. He won 6-2, 6-4.

The match lasted just over an hour. Evans won in straight sets, having to fight back after being down, but he ultimately won in straight sets.

After the match, Evans wrote a message on his Instagram page. “I’m delighted to be able to play this match,” he wrote. “I’ve been working hard for this, and I’m really happy to have won.”

In a statement, the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) said the match was played behind closed doors. “We are aware of the situation and we are investigating it,” the LTA said. “We will take appropriate action.”

Evans also said he had received a warning from the tournament after the match. “I was told that I had to follow the rules,” he said. “I will do everything I can to comply with them.”

Earlier, it was reported that Evans had been fined for breaking the rules. It was also reported that he had violated the rules in 2021 and 2023.
