France sets dates for 2027 presidential election runoffs
- France has set the first round for 18 April 2027 and the second round for 2 May 2027.
- The official announcement of the election dates will be published after the cabinet meeting on 1 April.
- Another round of voting is scheduled to take place by 14 May 2027.

France will hold the first round of the presidential election on 18 April 2027, and the second round — on 2 May 2027. As reported, a decision was made after a statement by Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin.
As Le Figaro reports, the election campaign will last between 11 and 25 days, depending on the date. The period for official campaigning will be three weeks.
It is also noted that the winner will be determined by a majority vote, and the president will be elected for a term of five years. Under the current law, the presidential election will be held in two rounds: the first round on 18 April 2027, and the second round by 14 May 2027.
Also, the election campaign of Emmanuel Macron will not be able to begin earlier than two months before the election day.
According to Reuters, the scheduling of the presidential election in France is as follows: the first round is set for 18 April, and the second round for 2 May, with the second round to be held no later than 14 May.
