Russia starts importing gasoline from India via pipeline disruption

Russia has started importing gasoline from India, which will change the situation with fuel supplies in Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, Reuters reports.

According to the agency, after fuel disruptions in the RF, the AZS approved a new round of gasoline deliveries from India, and the price of gasoline rose to record levels.

It turns out that on April 30, the Russian side filed a request with its partner countries to import fuel at wholesale prices.

Industrial sources say that India to Russia shipped more than 60,000 tons of gasoline. It is also noted that it was delivered by two tankers, each carrying 30,000 to 40,000 tons.

Reuters adds that the RF plans to import a total of 400,000 tons of gasoline from foreign countries, including Belarus, which already exports gasoline to Russia. In this regard, the amount of gasoline imported into the RF is expected to exceed 110,000 tons.

It is also reported that the RF plans to supply Kazakhstan with 50,000 tons of AI-92 gasoline for further processing. The Russian side officially denied this information.

According to Kommersant, citing data from the National Association of Fuel Marketers, the price of imported Belarusian AI-92 gasoline: it has risen from 6% to 127,000 rubles per ton. The wholesale price of Belarusian gasoline increased by 1.8 times.

For the period from April 1 to April 26, 2026, Russian companies sold 79,380 tons of gasoline. It is also noted that Russia imported 5,170 tons of gasoline from Belarus, and in the first 10 days of April — 2,600 tons.

On April 30, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia would continue to import gasoline, but not from countries whose companies plan to buy oil products. He also said that the Russian side would continue to purchase fuel from other countries, including Vladimir Putin’s statement that on April 28, “the practice of importing oil products” would be carried out.
