Lego parade after F1: Silverstone’s grand prix cars made of Lego

During the Silverstone weekend, after the British Grand Prix, the F1 cars will be converted into parade floats, with the Lego bricks Lego.

To make the cars, the team uses a special material that allows the Lego to be assembled into a single structure. It takes more than 28,000 Lego bricks to build each car, and the assembly team spends 6,400 hours putting the bricks together into a single design.

The cars weigh 280 kg, with each brick weighing 65 kg, and the team uses a special mechanism to ensure the cars are ready for the parade.

Maximum speed during the parade is up to 25 kph (16 mph), and, as organizers say, this is to ensure the safety of the drivers and spectators.

The material is also used to assemble Lego cars for the 2026 season.

Meanwhile, the British Grand Prix parade is scheduled to take place on the eve of the Belgian Grand Prix, with the cars set to be transported from the Netherlands.

The parade at Silverstone will be followed by a trackside show: Lewis Hamilton and George Russell will be joined by Kimi Antonelli, who is set to make his debut in the Mercedes team, 40 years after Russell. It will also be a chance for Hamilton to celebrate his first win in the Ferrari era at the Belgian Grand Prix.
