Belgium beat Senegal 3-2 in match 1/8 of the 2026 World Cup, overturning the title with a comeback. The winning goal came after Timemans scored in the 125th minute following VAR review.
Senegal went ahead early thanks to Habib Diarra, and Belgium responded with three goals in the final stretch. Romelu Lukaku scored the equalizer, while Timemans delivered the winner in the dying moments.
Timemans’ goal sent Belgium through to the next round. Up next, Belgium will face Bosnia and Herzegovina, who advanced after winning 2-1 against England.
