SEATTLE (AP) — Belgium and England played out a 2-2 draw in regular time at the FIFA World Cup, with the match decided on penalties, 1-1.
Coach Ziegrajt spent 30 minutes reviewing the match, with a further two minutes before the decision was made. As the referee reviewed the goal, he announced the penalty shootout decision.
Belgium’s victory was secured by a goal from Habiba Diarra at 2-0. Romelu Lukaku scored in the 86th minute, while Yuri Tielemans scored in the 89th.
In a report, AP noted that Lukaku’s goal was ruled out after Belgium’s 3-2 win in the match. The match’s dramatic turnaround was captured in the late stages of the game.
