Lulu’s Law has been passed to restrict how cell phones can be used

Introduced by Alabama Republican Senator, 15-year-old Lulu Gribbin, who was killed after being struck by a phone while driving in 2024. Her mother said she didn’t know about the accident, which happened 90 minutes before 3 miles (4.8 km) away, and she said she wouldn’t have survived.

“Lulu’s Law” classifies it as a crime, so that it may be avoided. Under the bill, Alabama’s system will be used to prevent it from happening again.

Gribbin died at the age of three on July 7, 2024 in the state of Florida. After her death, her family filed a lawsuit, and the case is expected to be resolved. The family is seeking accountability, arguing that it was caused by the driver’s negligence. The lawsuit claims that the driver used a phone while driving.
