On Thursday, 2 July 2026, a British man will be tried in court for alleged sexual activity with a married woman, according to the prosecution.
According to the Crown Prosecution Service, it was unable to proceed with the case due to a lack of evidence linking the defendant to the alleged offences.
The prosecution said the charges relate to allegations of unlawful sexual activity with a married woman between 1978 and 1981. In its statement, the Crown Prosecution Service said the case was based on statements made by the victim, and that the defendant was accused of sexual misconduct during that period.
In addition, the prosecution said that the investigation was carried out by the Metropolitan Police, and the charges were brought. Crown Prosecution Service said it was unable to proceed with the case as the evidence was not sufficient, and the material cannot be disclosed.
