Trains on the line are experiencing delays due to a fault with a West Coast Main Line signal. The incident is expected to last until 9:00, with services resuming later than usual.

Services between Lichfield Trent Valley and Rugeley Trent Valley are affected. The disruption is being caused by West Midlands Railway between Birmingham International and Rugeley Trent Valley, affecting trains between Hednesford and Rugeley Trent Valley.

Disruption is affecting Avanti West Coast and Lumo services between London Euston and Scotland, as well as services on London Northwestern Railway and West Midlands Railway. Passengers may experience delays of up to 4:00.

For passengers travelling: expect delays. Ticket holders should check their journey status before travelling. There may be disruption to onward travel.

According to the Press Association, the disruption was caused by a broken down train, which is being towed away. Inrix reports that Avanti West Coast services between Stafford and Rugby and between Stoke-on-Trent and Rugby are being delayed, with disruption also occurring through Birmingham New Street.
