Darren Steele trial reviews medical records related to Tiger Woods
- Judge Darren Steele ordered medical records related to Tiger Woods from Cleveland Clinic Martin South Hospital after a DUI.
- The case will be reviewed by the Martin County circuit court; for medical prescription medication records Woods is claiming that the material should be turned over.
- In the meantime, Woods did not dispute the allegations: the Breathalyzer test showed an alcohol level above the legal limit, while the urine test came back positive.
Judge Darren Steele ordered the prosecution to provide the court with the medical records, citing a request from Tiger Woods, which AP reports.
In addition, the judge said that the documents could help determine whether Woods had been affected by prescription medication from Cleveland Clinic Martin South Hospital, which the prosecution provided after a delay of 27 days. The prosecution will review the documents in circuit court in Martin County, where the defense will argue in Palm Beach County.
The judge also said that the prosecution is seeking to obtain all prescription medication records Woods provided to the court in connection with his DUI case. For medical records, the defense asked Doug Duncan, who requested the records, to provide the material, including the privacy of the documents, and the prosecution should provide Woods.
Woods, according to the judge, pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence. In court, prosecutors said that the SUV he was driving struck a guardrail, with the right side of the vehicle hitting a curb. The prosecutors said that Woods had pain pills, and that he had been taking them. The judge said that the material shows that at the time Woods was driving, he was under the influence of prescription medication, and that he had been driving at a speed of 30 mph (about 50 kph) on the way from Jupiter Island, and that the fine for the violation was $5,000.
Woods took a Breathalyzer test, which showed an alcohol level, but the urine test came back positive, according to the judge. The judge said that the prosecution had asked for the documents, and that Woods had been given the material for the test.
