Meta quietly launches Pocket AI for creating interactive “gizmo” experiences

Meta has launched a new standalone Pocket app that lets users create interactive “gizmo” experiences with AI. TechCrunch and The Verge say that the app is being distributed in Google Play.
Meta’s Pocket on Google Play states that the “gizmo” feature may not be available in your country, while Pocket is still available in the App Store in the U.S.
TechCrunch adds that Meta has renamed Gizmo, replacing it with Pocket on Google Play. Gizmo, which is currently available on Google Play, while Pocket also offers a feature that creates AI-generated text for creating small interactive stories.
Based on TechCrunch’s report, Alessandro Paluzzi, reviewed the new features and said that Pocket’s app can be launched from X. According to Appfigures, as reported by TechCrunch, Pocket was released on June 29, 2026 on the App Store and Google Play; however, the company may not have started rolling out the app in every country. The Verge also notes that in the U.S. it may be unavailable: “isn’t available in your country,” while Pocket is still available in the App Store in the U.S.
TechCrunch also writes that Meta has not officially announced Pocket, and that the distribution is based on the company’s instructions for creating AI-generated content. Meta says that it has launched Meta AI, Vibes and Edits, and that Gizmo has 635K lifetime installs on iOS and Google Play, according to Appfigures, with a further 98% of positive feedback.
The Verge reports that Meta has not responded to requests for comment.
