The U.S. Supreme Court upheld a ruling, which stated that banning transgender athletes from participating in certain sports teams violates federal law. The court ruled in favor of Zahid Virdzhiniya, a former athlete at Aida K. Zahid.

In its ruling, with a 6-3 majority, the court found that it is not permissible to bar transgender athletes from competing in accordance with Title IX, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex. The court said it is clear that the law applies to transgender athletes, and that the NCAA and the Olympic Committee must comply with the law.

The court also ruled that the case should be resolved using federal law. It upheld a decision by Judge Aida K. Zahid, which found that the ban on transgender athletes is unlawful. The court said that the ban violates the rights of transgender athletes and that it is not allowed to restrict their participation.

In the case, the court noted that the NCAA and the Olympic Committee must comply with the law and cannot ban transgender athletes from competing in accordance with their gender identity.
