The football club "Arsenal" has announced the signing of midfielder Georgia Stanway, an England national team player, on a free transfer from "Bavaria".

Sky Sports material states that Stanway's contract with "Bavaria" ended after the season, and that, for that reason, the club allowed her to leave. Sky Sports also reports that Stanway won the Supercup with "Bavaria" and that, as a result, she left the club together with two German Supercup winners.

According to ESPN, Stanway agreed a contract with the club for three years following the end of her contract with "Bavaria". ESPN also writes that "Bavaria" won 128 matches with Stanway.

Stanway previously played for "Manchester City" in WSL: Sky Sports reports that she won the league title there, scoring 186 matches and 67 goals, and also helped the club win the WSL title, along with three "Manchester City" players. Sky Sports also notes that Stanway scored 33 goals in 93 matches and helped the club win the Women’s Euros from 2022 to 2025.

In an interview, Stanway said: "I’m really happy to join Arsenal. It’s a great club, and I’m excited to be here. I want to win trophies and I’m looking forward to working with the team."

ESPN also adds that Stanway had previously played for "Arsenal" and that, in addition, she had a connection to the club. ESPN notes that she is close to London.
