Svittek beats another Wimbledon finalist Tausend in straight sets

30 June 2026 — Svittek’s victory over another Wimbledon finalist Tausend, who had advanced to the final by beating the former world No. 1 in the semifinals, was confirmed. She won the first set with a score of 6-1, but then the match was interrupted.
Tausend, who is ranked 79 in the WTA, went into the match with a 4-0 lead against her opponent in the second set, winning 2-6. In the end, the third set was won by Svittek, taking the match 6-3.
In the end, the Ukrainian’s streak continued, with the second set being won in just 21 minutes. She broke three times in total, and the opponent’s serve was broken.
After the match, Svittek said that this season is not going the way she wanted. The other finalist, Karolini Pliskova, who has 73 wins at the tournament, will face her in the final.
