Hamilton starts on pole at British GP
- Lewis Hamilton won pole position at the British Grand Prix by just 0.011 seconds over Kimi Antonelli.
- Jordy Rassel started from 5th; Max Verstappen will start from the other side.
- The sprint qualifying will be 4 laps, while the Grand Prix itself is 5 laps; the sprint will be shown live on Canal + Sport.
At the British Grand Prix in Formula 1, Lewis Hamilton started on pole position for the sprint race: Hamilton took pole by 0.011 seconds over Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) with a time of 1'28''376. Jordy Rassel (Mercedes) did not improve and will start from fifth place.
According to the results, Max Verstappen finished second in the sprint-qualifying, while Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finished third, with only the final lap separating the drivers. The sprint race will be held later today.
According to L’ÉQUIPE, Hamilton started from 8th in the sprint-qualifying, Verstappen was 11th, and Ocon was 18th after SQ1. After the sprint qualifying, the drivers’ grid for the Grand Prix has been set, which will be held later today.
Schedule: Saturday, sprint qualifying — 13:00, qualifying — 17:00. Sunday, the Grand Prix race will start at 17:00 (Independent will air it at 3pm, while L’ÉQUIPE — 17h00).
