Joey Chestnut wins Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest

Joey Chestnut set a new winning record at Nathan’s hot dog eating contest in Coney Island, finishing 66 hot dogs ahead after 10 minutes. According to ZMI, the final was decided in a special way, when the winner managed to eat 100 hot dogs in the final round. Nathan’s Famous is owned by Smithfield Foods; organizer Major League Eating said that the record was not influenced by the participants’ right to share their food.
For details, at 10:45 a.m. ET, Chestnut and his opponent started the competition at 12:30 p.m. ET.
It is stated that the winner managed to eat more hot dogs than the record set by Nathan’s Famous in Coney Island in just 10 minutes: the competitor managed to eat 38.75 hot dogs and then, in the final round, ate 76 hot dogs, which also set the “Mustard Belt” title.
For comparison, at 10:45 a.m. ET, Chestnut’s opponent started eating at 12:30 p.m. ET.
