South Africa beat England 45-21 in Nations Championship match
- South Africa beat England 45-21 in Nations Championship at Ellis Park.
- After the first 12 minutes, South Africa led 17-0/17 thanks to tries by Thomas du Toit, Cheslin Kolbe and Kurt-Li Arendse.
- England scored three tries in reply, but South Africa went on to seal the win with a try by Ellis Genndy at the end.
South Africa beat England 45-21 in the Nations Championship match at Ellis Park.
In the first half, South Africa dominated from the start: tries by Thomas du Toit, Cheslin Kolbe and Kurt-Li Arendse gave the team a 17-point lead after the first 12 minutes. After that, South Africa extended their advantage to 17-0 at half-time.
In the second half, England scored three tries in response to the Springboks’ tries by Ellis Gendjy and Jordan Martin.
After the restart, South Africa’s captain Siya Kolisi scored a try after a tackle by Eben Etzebeth, who was unable to stop him from scoring. England’s only response came in the form of tries by Tommmy Freeman and Gay Pepper, with England scoring a total of 13 points.
Kick-off at Ellis Park is scheduled for 4.40pm BST.
