British tennis player Arthur Fery advanced to the Wimbledon last 16 after defeating Zizou Bergs in a match that ended: 2-6, 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 [3], 7-6 [5]. The match lasted 4 hours and 38 minutes.
In the match, Fery needed medical assistance to continue after being injured; as explained, he had been suffering from a cramp. It was also reported that at the fourth game, he was able to win 4-1, but then he started to lose his advantage.
According to L’ÉQUIPE, Fery had a problem with his third serve on Court 18, which made the match difficult for him. The team also said that before the tiebreak, there was a pause of 14 minutes due to medical treatment: as Fery, the tournament’s winner, said, he was able to return to the match after being treated.
After Fery’s win, L’ÉQUIPE reported that in the last 16 he will face Matteo Berrettini or Grigor Dimitrov. Independent also noted that Fery advanced to the top-100 rankings for the first time.
