Ukrainian Armed Forces strike communications center near Moscow
- On the night of June 30, drones again struck a communications facility in Dubna, which is linked to the intelligence and coordination of Russian forces.
- Volodymyr Zelenskyy said such strikes are part of a plan of action against the Russian war and are being prepared against other targets.
- The Russian side reported the death of a six-month-old child in the Moscow region and the mass downing of drones over the region.
On the night of June 30, Ukrainian drones carried out a second strike on the Dubna satellite communications center in the Moscow region. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this facility is used for reconnaissance and coordination of the actions of the Russian group in Ukraine.
According to him, the distance from Ukraine’s state border to this target is more than 500 kilometers. Zelenskyy also said that Ukrainian forces had previously struck four other similar Russian communications centers, including in the Moscow and Vladimir regions.
The Ukrainian side calls such strikes part of a long-range plan of action against Russia’s ability to wage war. The reports also note that actions are being prepared against other similar facilities.
The Russian authorities did not confirm that this specific center had been hit. Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov said that a drone struck an administrative building in Dubna without causing casualties. He also reported that in the Moscow region a six-month-old child was killed after a drone fell on a house, and that Russian air defenses shot down more than 60 drones over Moscow and the region after several minutes of attacks that began on the evening of June 29.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, a total of 419 drones were intercepted or destroyed.
Earlier, on June 22, Ukrainian military officials had already reported a strike on the same facility. At that time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said it had hit the Mark-IV antenna hardware module complex and a technical building nearby.
